AI speaker identification with voice profiles for meetings, interviews, and hearings

Let’s start today’s blog post with a statement that may sound a bit boring yet is undeniably true: effective business communication and precise administration are built on accurate documentation. Take company meetings, for example: it matters a great deal who actually said a particular sentence. This should be clearly reflected in the meeting minutes and summaries as well.

This is where intelligent speaker identification comes into play: when transcribing an audio recording, it automatically assigns each spoken segment to the correct individual.

We’ve reached another milestone in Alrite’s journey: the AI-based transcription process now offers an even higher level of automation. The new Voice Profiles feature, available in business plans, enables fully automatic speaker identification based on the participants’ voices—using personalized voice profiles. This significantly reduces the need for post-editing and ensures more complete, polished documents.

Intelligent speaker identification

Although Alrite’s algorithms have already been able to automatically distinguish different speakers in recordings, assigning names remained a manual task—until now. The new development can fully replace this process. From now on, the system doesn’t just label participants with numbers; it can recognize individuals during transcription based on recorded voice samples and automatically insert their names—or, for example, their job titles or whatever identifier was provided—into the transcript. This solution eliminates uncertainty and delivers text that is ready for immediate publication or archiving, whether for recurring meetings or interviews with consistent participants.

Creating personalized Voice Profiles

The technology was introduced with user experience in mind, so creating voice profiles integrates seamlessly into existing workflows. To create a voice profile, you simply select a few sentences belonging to the speaker while editing a recording, and the system stores them as a reference. Experience shows that about two minutes of good-quality audio per person is more than enough for reliable recognition. No separate recording is necessary; profiles can be created and expanded based on existing recordings. This small upfront time investment pays off exponentially later, as the program then automatically handles speaker identification and inserts the correct identifiers into the transcript for every subsequent transcription.

Data protection compliance

In business use, data protection is unavoidable. In developing this feature, we placed special emphasis on GDPR compliance and giving users full control over their data. Users can view, edit, or permanently delete stored voice profiles at any time from the Files menu, ensuring that only the data essential for their work remains in the system.

Moreover, all data is stored on servers located in the EU (in Hungary), this transparency makes Alrite a trusted partner even in corporate environments with stricter data security protocols.

Practical applications of intelligent speaker identification

The potential applications of this new feature are nearly limitless. Beyond processing press interviews and podcast recordings, the technology can play a key role in the corporate sector: it provides invaluable support when analyzing board meetings, online conferences, or customer service calls. It is also useful for transcribing television or radio programs, as well as HR interviews or legal hearings. Automatic name assignment is not just a convenience, it is a strategic tool that speeds up information flow and allows employees to focus on meaningful tasks instead of administrative work.

In summary: the advantages of personalized Voice Profiles

Although generative AI solutions are gaining ground globally, Alrite’s targeted developments demonstrate that specialized tools optimized for linguistic nuances and business needs remain more effective. Thanks to recent advancements and the introduction of Voice Profiles, Alrite has evolved from a simple transcription software into a comprehensive, intelligent workflow support system. Whether in the SME or large enterprise sector, when an efficient tool is needed to process audio recordings and convert them into text of any type or language, this is the solution.
