I. Key Information and Practical Terms for Using the Alrite Application
Technical and functional requirements:
Purpose of the Application: The Alrite application is designed to transform audio or video files into text by converting such materials into either a standard text format (transcript) or a timecoded text format (captions). Please note that the accuracy and quality of the transcription and captioning are significantly influenced by the quality of the audio in the file, the recording conditions (e.g., background noise), and the clarity and intelligibility of the speech (e.g., articulation and speaker volume), among other factors. Once generated, the text variants may be edited, refined, and downloaded in a variety of formats, based on your preferences.
Accuracy Disclaimer: Régens Zrt., as the service provider, strives to ensure the highest possible accuracy in transcribing and captioning uploaded materials. However, the provider is not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from potential errors, service interruptions, or termination. The user assumes full responsibility for using the application.
Intellectual Property: The Alrite application is the intellectual property of Régens Zrt. Users may access the application after agreeing to the terms of use.
Time Credit Concept: The application converts audio and video files into text in exchange for credits, known as time credits (also referred to as hourly credits or quota). Users can obtain up to 30 minutes of time credits free of charge under the Starter package. Should the 30-minute allocation or the features included in this package not suffice or meet their needs, users may purchase additional time credits by selecting a suitable subscription package, specifying the desired amount of time credits for the upcoming period, and paying a one-time fee. The current balance of time credits available to users is displayed in their account in hour:minute:seconds format. Users may transcribe and caption files up to the available time credit balance, provided it is sufficient to cover the duration of the files selected for processing.
User Responsibility for Processing: The length of the audio or video material to be transcribed and captioned must not exceed the total amount of time credit currently available to the user. If the time credit balance is less than the length of the material, the application will only process the audio or video material up to the available time credit, not in its entirety. Before starting the processing, users should ensure that the length of the material does not exceed their time credit balance.
Prior to initiating processing, it must also be ensured that the appropriate language-processing option is selected in the settings, in addition to verifying the duration of the file. The application supports the processing of both monolingual and multilingual files; however, multilingual transcription and captioning is available only under eligible subscription packages (Lite, Plus, Prime, Premium and Professional). For files containing speech in a single language, the use of the relevant monolingual model is recommended, as monolingual models generally provide faster and more accurate results. When using a monolingual model, it must be ensured that the selected language corresponds to the language spoken in the file. If the selected language does not match the spoken language, the resulting transcript and captions may be inaccurate or incomplete. Processing will nevertheless proceed, and the balance of the user account will still be charged for the full duration of the file. Users are therefore strongly advised to review and confirm the selected processing option and language setting before initiating processing.
Please note that the multilingual model does not support speech recognition in every language. Users are therefore advised to review the list of languages supported by the multilingual model before initiating processing. We shall not be liable for any failure to transcribe or caption speech in languages that are not supported by the selected model.
User Responsibility for Content: By accepting the terms of use, the user agrees to upload only audio or video material they legally own, and only if the content or the resulting transcription and captions do not violate the personal or intellectual property rights of others. The user bears full responsibility for the content, the circumstances of its creation, and the transcription and captions derived from it.
File Storage: Uploaded audio and video files, along with their related text files, will be stored for the following durations based on the package under which they were processed, regardless of any subsequent changes to the user’s subscription:
Unless the user opts to delete any or all files earlier, these storage periods apply.
Once deleted, files are permanently removed and cannot be restored in either the Alrite system or the application database.
Web and Mobile App Compatibility: Separate accounts are not required to use Alrite’s web and mobile apps; a single account with the same login credentials provides access to both platforms. While there are some differences between the two, core functionalities are available on both. It is recommended, however, to use up-to-date devices and the latest versions of the necessary software (i.e., browser or mobile app) to ensure smooth operation and optimize the user experience.
Proper Use: Users must adhere to the intended purpose of the application. Régens Zrt. reserves the right to deny access to those who misuse the application, particularly in cases of abuse of the free version or actions that impair or disrupt the service. In the event of a violation, Régens Zrt. may cancel the user’s registration without prior notice or ban the associated IP address.
II. Special Terms of Use for Users of the Alrite Application’s Starter Package
III. Special Terms of Use for Subscribers of the Alrite Application
Any previously purchased time credit must be used within one year from the date of the last purchase. Invoices for each order are automatically sent by email after the successful finalization of the subscriptions, and can also be easily exported from the Orders section in the Profile menu within the application.
Please note clause 7.2 of the General Terms and Conditions, which states that for a package ordered for a specific period and number of transcription and captioning tasks, the service fee credited to the company’s bank account is due even if the customer has not fully utilized these services. Therefore, no refund can be claimed for any unused capacity.
Each subscription requires a one-off payment with no recurring automatic charges. As a result, there is no need for users to manually cancel the subscription once the purchased time credits have been added to their account. Upon termination of the subscription, whether due to the expiration of the term or the exhaustion of time credits, the account will automatically revert to the free Starter package, which will remain active for an additional year. Users may also choose to cancel their account earlier if authorized. During the active period of the user account, access to uploaded files is governed by the provisions of the Privacy Policy.
Users may resubscribe at any time during the term, which extends the validity of any remaining time credits. The new expiration date will be set for 1 year from the date of the most recent purchase, applying to both previously purchased time credits (still available) and newly acquired credits.
Switching subscription packages can be done either through a new purchase or by converting your current time credits based on the difference in subscription fees between the previous and new packages, and credited accordingly (along with any newly purchased time credits in the case of a new subscription). However, it is important to note that switching packages does not affect previously processed files; no functions are retroactively revoked, nor are new features made available for past files. The features available for each processed file are determined by the subscription package active at the time of processing.
Further details regarding the application’s use and the associated legal conditions can be found in the General Terms and Conditions (GTC), which users accept upon subscribing to the service.
